>Nero Burning Rom Review
Be it on Nero Express or Start Smart, the Nero Burning Rom has got to be one of the most important features of the Nero suite. With this feature, the burning capabilities have been extended and now, there is a wide range of featured elements that will definitely appeal to the needs of anybody. It is fully equipped to handle any burning projects. Nonetheless, the changes were primarily on the interface. There was also a change on the default values. For example, the size of the data buffer has shrunk considerably. Nonetheless, it still shows some flexibility.
If you would compare the Nero Burning Rom now from the previous version, there are very little changes on the functionality. Very minimal adjustments were done on some aspects. This means that avid fans of this program will not get lost when you utilize the features that you have come accustomed within the past version. You can proceed with burning CDs and DVDs without any problems. One can copy a video to DVD in a few minutes, for bootable CDs, Audio disc; write DVDs in different formats and many other classic samples depending on what you need.
A lot of people were expecting the inclusion of HD-DVD and BluRay writing but that is still yet to happen. These features are not yet part of the suite but they can be included as plug-ins. It is quite unfortunate that Nero did not put this feature already since competition has been banking on these featured for their own products.
Nonetheless, when it comes to performance, you can expect the same level of functionality and speed. A DVD video can be written within 10 to 15 minutes. This program is compatible with Windows OS and when tested on the said environment, it performed quite well. Here are some other aspects that you should take advantage of:
- There were no alterations with the options for audio encoding. The program supports the classic input audio formats like MP3, WAV, AIFF and others.
- Even while burning something, you can take advantage of the features included in this program. It is quite resilient and does not lag or affect the processes.
- Nero Burning Rom also comes with the disc eraser. Now you can do a quick erase or a full erase and is capable of blanking out any rewritable CD or DVD.
There are some downsides with the program which has been present also in the previous version. It’s such a shame that they were not able to fix this problem.
The program cannot compress files into an ISO format. Compared to NRG, ISO is a much popular and preferred format.
Another issue is that the log details after burning a file is that it does not specify how much time was spent for the process.
It is incapable of copying protected discs. We all know that discs are susceptible to scratches and breaking. If it contains important files, having a backup could give you the security that the file is protected.
