Burning a CD on a computer is a relativly simple process, what is needed is a computer that has a CD-RW Drive or a DVD-RW Drive (If you want to be able to burn DVD) most modern computers come with these by default.
If you are using an older computer that doesn’t have a RW drive equipped then you won’t be able to burn anything onto a CD or DVD.
In the event that you don’t have a CD-RW/DVD-RW Drive you can purchuse them online from popular stores such as eBay and Dell and many other websites and you should be able to slide it in to your computer case replacing your old previous CD-ROM/DVD-ROM.

To burn data you must know what specific type you want to burn, for example mixed CD with documents and pictures would be called a “Data” CD, there are other types such as Music, Video, Blu-Ray and DVD.
